Previous Events

Since launching in April 2014, the Digital Economy Network has funded and delivered series of 44 events, activities and initiatives for the benefit of the EPSRC Digital Economy community of researchers, students and staff.

These activities have all been delivered under the DEN five themes, with some activities being cross-themed.

Theme 1:

Sharing best practice

Events:

  • DEN Annual Meetings x 4 – held in February each year 2015-2018  for CDT staff & students in Central London.
  • DEN CDT Directors Meetings x 4 – held in Feb each year at the DEN Annual Meetings.
  • DEN CDT Managers & Administrators  Meetings x 6 – held in May & Nov each year.

Initiatives:

  • DEN Social Media Advocate – since Jan 2015.
  • Digital Economy Diversity Network – launched in July 2017.  Three cross-CDT meetings delivered in Sept 2017, Jan 2018 and March 2018.

Theme 2:

Large-scale shared events
  • DE Summer Schools x 4 – a 3 residential event held in July each year, hosted by a different CDT and funded by DEN since 2014.
  • Cross-CDT PhD Writing Retreats x 5– 2-day time structured, goal-based sessions held in Leicestershire, Gloucestershire , Lancashire and Derbyshire since June 2016.
  • Data Publics International Conference, Lancaster University, 31 Mar-2 Apr 2017.
  • Futures of the End of Life  International Symposium- Lancaster University, 21-22 Jan 2016.
